We enjoyed a wonderful second evening in our car-park in Kilkenny. We were asleep by 8.30 and didnโt hear a thing all night. Only stirred by a street sweeper about 6 am. After coffee and fruit we rolled out of Kilkenny, fueling and filling with water as we left. We have a couple of housekeeping issue to deal with today.
Filling with LPG and emptying the toilet cassette the next priority. Anyway we are on the M9 south for Waterford before you can spell Leprechaun. Forty minutes later we are in the morning traffic making our way along the dockside of the River Barrow to a recommended car-park we had found on the Motorhome Ireland website. At โฌ1 ph itโs expensive, but only a short walk to the Viking Triangle.

Our first stop is the Medieval Museum โฌ14 pp in a combination ticket with the Bishopโs Palace.
Enough medieval stuff for this morning we wander back to the Hymer for a coffee and a little planning for later in the day. The was a post today from someone wildcamping at Hook Head Lighthouse, its on the eastern side of the River Suir in County Wexford, looks just like our cup of tea.
Having done the Bishopโs place we wander up to the tourist office to find out where we can get some auto-gas and check out the passage east ferry. This will save the long drive up to the Barrow Bridge. We find the LPG at a Texaco on the Cork Road and we can empty the cassette there as well.

A light house fire was first lit here in the 5th century.. The base of the existing lighthouse was constructed in the 13th century. Making it the oldest working lighthouse in the world. Despite the constantly changing weather, its a beautiful place to stop for the night. Did I say itโs free to stay here.
Itโs early evening. The suns out, the tides out and the Germans are out. We give the microwave a burst and re-heat some left-overs. We are still drinking cheap beer and wine we purchased from Lidl as we returned through France ๐ซ๐ท last year. Lucky or our daily budget would be even worse.
