We had always thought, that once our European travels were done and/or age catches up with us we would sell the Hymer and purchase a motorhome here in Australia. However Covid 19 has changed our lives as it has everyone else’s. After being kindly allowed to use Jenny and Dave’s Winnebago in 2020 and Covid continuing into the forseeable future we decided to take the plunge. Discussing our thoughts with friends Julia and Greg we hatch a plan to share ownership of a used Jayco motorhome.
A couple of months later we are the proud half owners of a 2013 Jayco Optimum 28.5, based on an Iveco 70C17 chassis. The Jayco was fully optioned when originally ordered having travelled only 35K kilometres when we transferred ownership.
How does our joint ownership work, we simply share all the normal ownership and maintenance costs together with storage fees. We maintain a shared calendar in which we book future use of the Jayco.
