Our parking spot on the marina in Donegal proved to be a good choice as we enjoyed a quiet evening and a good nights sleep. Free parking finishes at 9 am, so we go for a walk about 0830. I noticed the ruins of an abbey yesterday so we go exploring…
Nice final resting place with panoramic views across Donegal Bay.
Two of the oldest headstones in the cemetery, zoom in and read for yourself.
Itโs just after 9 when we arrive back at the Hymer, pack up and get going. On the outskirts of Donegal we spot a Texaco Service Station and roll in for a look. We find many Texaco have a seperate toilet out the back for truck drivers. We do what needs to be done and fill with water.
We stop at Streedagh Point for breakfast, Pam goes for a walk whilst I finish yesterdayโs post.
A quick video from beach level, just for fun.
From Malainn we can see a watchtower on the next headland. So we drive around to Glen Head for a look. At the end of the road we bump into a local painting his boat. He gives us the good oil on walking out there, so we park and continue on foot.
Down from Glengesh Pass we drive into Ardara looking for a supermarket and perhaps an overnight park. Ardara is another music town, which sound nice. But we soon find there is no supermarket and the beach at nearby Narin sounds better than a carpark on the main road. So we drive the 10 kms on to Narin and find our little piece of Irish heaven on a sunny afternoon.
