We escape Wagin after a long morning walk in the sunshine. It’s a little warmer this morning after a cool night.

The drive to Kojonup is all sheep country. We spend the night in Kojonup’s RV Stop which costs $5. They’re is only a dump point here, but we do get a bit of grass for the night. Kojonup has the best IGA we’ve see in a couple of weeks but little else of interest.

Next morning we make an early start for Bridgetown. It’s a cross country drive, the roads are narrower which is more of a challenge with B Doubles whistling pass. Still lots of sheep but the hills become steeper and the farms are mingled with plantation timber.

Driving into Bridgetown is has an English country village look. Lots of deciduous trees showing their autumn colours.

Bridgetown has a free RV Stop with all the services, it’s well located in the middle of town. One of the reasons for the early start was to make sure we get a spot as there’s only 4 places. Needn’t have worried as there no one else here.

So we plug everything in, have a coffee before going exploring.

Bridgetown stands on the high side of the Blackwood River, it’s about 1.5 kms from the RV stop to this magnificent wooden bridge. The river walk starts just below the bridge and we do that walk during our stay as well.

Bridgetown is a touristy town, you can always tell by the number of women’s fashion shops and taro card readers etc.

In any case we enjoyed our stay walking around looking at some lovely old buildings and homes.
