Budget: days @ $ per day
We roll out of Streaky Bay rejoining the Flinders Hwy. Our fridge loaded with gummy shark and shell service station chicken korma an interesting combination at first glance.
I thought weโd share this picture of a Sturt Pea we found this morning on our walk. What a stunning plant given a touch of water.
75 kms north-west of Streaky Bay we spot the turn for Smokey Bay and decide why not. Itโs only 4 kms off the highway and we are soon passing several buildings all associated with oysters. Smokey Bay has a lovely beach, some lovely homes and a nice little CP a couple of hundred metres back from the beach. The historic wharf is well worth a walk and a great spot for squid and blue swimmer crab according to a local from central coast of NSW.
After reading the memorial plaque Pam decides Smokey is a dangerous place to be in a boat or swimming with sharks.

Back on the road itโs a relatively short drive to Ceduna. The main street is relatively neat and tidy, the bakery and supermarket much better than we expected. We had phoned ahead and found the main caravan park was full but got a spot at Shelley Beach two kms south.
Shelley Beach is nothing fancy but Pam has an afternoon of washing planned, so what the heck. The afternoon slips by and we have panko crumbs flake for dinner and it was excellent.
Up reasonably early we drive into Ceduna walk the waterfront and around town, not too much to warrant a photo Iโm afraid. So thatโs Ceduna done and we head off for the Nullarbor.

Your photos are becoming National Geographic quality, especially the Sturt Pea and the Bridge one.
Pam, your former WichBank is the first to try and impose the anti-cash measures on OZ. I have not been banking with them for a while….
