Travelled: 550 kms from Sydney to Pambula Beach
Visited: Lake Conjola, Batemans Bay and Pambula Beach
Stayed: Holiday Haven, NRMA Batehaven and Discovery Pambula Beach
Weโve been back on the road for a week, so itโs time to make myself start blogging again. Summer in Sydney has been hot, humid and as wet as I can remember, so with some trepidation we leave the air-conditioning and comfort of home heading south on the Princes Highway.
The Jayco is now almost 15 metres long with the Suzuki under tow. Whilst weโve completed a couple of short test trips around Sydney, now itโs out on the highway, steep hills and hooking up and disconnecting as needed. That balanced against the additional freedom of having a small 4WD to explore the local area when we stop. All that will become evident from our travels.
Our first stop is Lake Conjola to catch up for dinner with Gary and Carmel at the Bowling Club. The old caravan park on the edge of the lake is a beautiful spot and we jag an absolute waterfront site.

Not much of a photo taken out the window of the Jayco but you get the feel Conjola is a happy place for many retired Australians. Mind you the campsite is overrun with kangaroos and you need to watch where you walk for obvious reasons.
Our visit to Conjola provides the first opportunity to take the Suzuki out for a drive. We drive south to Milton before turning west into the Pigeon House and looping back onto the Hwy and returning via a bakery at Burrill Lake.
The Suzuki hitched up once again our next stop is Batemans Bay only an hour further south. We have a booking here with some of the children in January 2027, so we stop at the NRMA caravan park to check it out. It nice enough and the grand kids will enjoy it more than we will.

Once again the Suzuki is off and we drive the various beaches than line the coast to the south. Best thing about Batemans during our short stay was the aquatic centre pictured above. Never seen a pool with so many signs.
With the Suzuki back on we continue south for Pambula Beach. The drive south is slow and the Jayco feels the extra load on every steep hill, so the drive keeps me busy.

Weโve booked 3 nights at the Discover Park in PB. The place is huge and not far from full of Victorians, as we wander about over the next few days we only spot 3-4 vehicles with NSW registration. The beach is nice other than the bull shark which made itself at home for two days whilst we were there.

During our 3 days in PB we drive down to Eden one day and up to Merimbula on another and manage a to get our laps done at Pambula Aquatic Centre twice. Other than that nothing exciting, just doing some walks, watching the wildlife and our neighbours.

We hook up the Suzuki in the morning and make our way into Victoria.
