Michael and Pam's Travels Our European Motorhome Adventures and other Travels

Peterborough, South Australia ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ 2025

Date: 1st September 2025

Travelled: 150 kms from Port Augusta to Peterborough

Visited: Peterborough

Stayed: Peterborough RV Park, free, S32.97448, E138.82459

Escaping Port Augusta south on the Augusta Highway for some 20 kilometres before turning onto Horrocks Pass Road and passing through this section of the Flinders Ranges. The drive through Wilmington and Orroroo is very interesting and either village would be worth a stop overnight and a blog.

We quickly find the RV Park and settle the Jayco comfortable in for the night. The day is slipping away as we head off for the short walk into Peterborough. There is a railway museum just up the road but itโ€™s already closed for the day so we continue on.

Amazingly there are still 3 pubs operating in Peterborough (and a couple more abandoned). Pictured below the Railway and the Peterborough.

The sun is starting to set by the time we return to the Jayco. Several other caravans and motorhomes have joined us in Fort Apache. Looks like a cold evening as a little mist settles around the RV Park and we hunker down.
