Date: 12-18th July 2019
Travelled: 3000 kilometres from Dublin, Ireland to Santorini, Greece
Visited: this and that
Stayed: The Sun House (AirBnb), Akrotiri on the Greek Island of Santorini
Budget: xx days @ โฌxx per day
We parked over night in the long term (blue) car-park at Dublin airport. The security seems pretty good so we hope the Hymer will be safe here whilst weโre in Greece. Not the best nights sleep however, a couple of planes departed about 2am waking us. Mind you the convenience of a short bus ride for an 0830 flights worked out well.
Our BA City Flyer flight takes us to Santorini via London City Airport, which I was completely unaware there is an airport on the Thames relatively close to city London. Anyway we safely go on to Santorini arriving late afternoon and we transfer to our digs in Akrotiri.

Anyway we settle in, hire a scooter and set about exploring southern Santorini. We visited Santorini several years ago on a Mediterranean cruise and have no real desire to do Fira and the northern part of the island again. Whilst there are still tourists everywhere, the villages of Akrotiri and Megalochori are less so.
Rather than detail our week, Iโll let this picture gallery say it for us, just click any of them and they should open full screen.
So finally the big day arrives, the weather is perfect, the venue is amazing, we join 40 family and friend for Anneliese and Tomโs nuptials. It was a fabulous sunset wedding and a great celebration until the early hours.

Mick,
There is a fantastic Minoan ruin there. It was dug in the 60s. It near Akrotiri.
Nice pictures, again!๐ค You two looked so relaxed and enjoying this adventure. Beautiful place for a wedding! ๐๐ป
Congratulations to Tom & his beautiful bride. The two ‘on the roadies’ don’t scrub up too bad either. I’m sure you all had a great day.
Really enjoying the blogs… keep them coming. Travel safe….. Cheers Denice xx
