Travelled: 26 kilometres from Petalidi to Koroni, the Peloponnese. Visited: Koroni Stayed: Camping Koroni, all services great wifi, โฌ19. N36.79965, E21.95125
After wandering the markets and buying some fresh fruit we hit the road south again. It’s another 45 minutes of endless bends and we take the turn off to Koroni. It’s an ancient Venetian port town, and as we drive down there are signs warning of a narrow road, no trucks or motorhomes. We are intending on a campsite in Koroni, it has been 24 nights since we plugged into power and driving for such short distances makes charging everything difficult. So much to Pam’s displeasure it’s โฌ19.
Greece
The Hymer and all our battery powered bit and pieces enjoy 240 volts in the shade.
It’s about a 10 minute walk from Camping Koroni down to the old port. The waterfront is full of little tavernas and we enjoy an hour is so have a beer and wine while the odd fishing boat does its thing.
The Venetian Castle and some lovely old homes line the bay.
The main gate into the Venetian Castle at Koroni.
Looking south from the Castle at Koroni. A lot of stairs to the top but we made it. The Castle which has been converted, or at least part of it, to a convent overlooks both bays.
The Convent Chapel
Inside the Chapel, a little more austere than your average Greek Church. But some lovely frescos.
Some Venetian ruins within the Castle. This is for you Gaye, we know you enjoy some ruins.
