Yarram, Victoria ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ 2026

Date: 23rd February 2026

Travelled: 200 kms from Nowa Nowa to Alberton

Visited: Yarram and Alberton

Stayed: Victoria Hotel, free, N38.61139, E145.66597

We drive down through Lakes Entrance, petrol spy helps us find some discount diesel on the way. Stocking up at Woolworths we have a two hour drive to Yarram.

We have passed through Yarram on a previous tour in 2021 but today we stop for a walk. Yarram originally known as Yarram Yarram is close to both 90 mile beach and Port Albert (rail trail) which is where we stayed on our last visit.

The main street of Yarram has several heritage buildings and lot of murals.

Yarram, Shire of Wellington, Victoria, 3971, Australia

The murals are all painted by Heesco Khosnaran a Mongolian born artist who now calls Yarram home.

Yarram also has an amazing old fashion cake shop full of sweet treats from your childhood. The apple slice was delicious.

Disappointingly we find Yarramโ€™s new swim centre is closed on Tuesday so no swim in the morning.

That being the case we continue on about 6 kms to Alberton and free camp in the back yard of the Victoria Hotel. The meal was average pub food which was quite acceptable and a round of drinks $17 which is the cheapest since leaving home.

Next morning itโ€™s another 6 km forced march along this section of the rail trail before we ready the Jayco for the road once again. This time setting the GPS for Wilsons Promontory.
