As the evening concludes, we are advised to adjust our clocks forward another hour. For the second evening in succession we loose an hours sleep. There has been a little weather overnight and we both wake a little jaded. Luckily the Infinity doesn’t dock until midday so there’s no hurry.ย The weather is hot and muggy, it seems we are still on the tail of that hurricane. With Jenny and Dave we hire a van and driver and set out to explore PV. Our ship has docked in the new part of town, all modern high rise and shopping malls but our driver heads for the old town.

The roads are paved with stones, not cobbles, actual rocks. What you would describe as goolies. The gutters are high the footpaths narrow. We visit a beautiful old church, lovingly cared for, wander through gardens and walk the beach front street. We pass numerous monuments to local heroes as well as modern street sculptures. ย The people seem happy and friendly, no one annoys us as we wander the back lanes taking photos and chatting. John Ford the Hollywood director lived here for 30 year and there is a beautiful nature park along the river constructed in his memory.

We stop in a family style restaurant for a late lunch and to use the wifi on the way back to the Infinity. The heavens open as we walk back, we share a small umbrella and it’s all part of the days adventure. Its a bit of a rush but we still make happy hour.
