{"id":9051,"date":"2017-09-29T14:33:38","date_gmt":"2017-09-29T14:33:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/?p=9051"},"modified":"2019-05-24T07:31:29","modified_gmt":"2019-05-23T21:31:29","slug":"the-romantische-strase-part-2-germany-%f0%9f%87%a9%f0%9f%87%aa-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/?p=9051","title":{"rendered":"The Romantische Stra\u00dfe (day 3), Germany 2017 \ud83c\udde9\ud83c\uddea"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Travelled: 150 kilometres from&nbsp;N\u00f6rdlingen to Landsberg am Lech, Germany.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Visited:&nbsp;N\u00f6rdlingen, Friedberg and Landsberg am Lech all on the Romantische&nbsp;Stra\u00dfe<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stayed: Landsberg am Lech Stellplatz \u20ac7, all the usual services. &nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/GcQVHGdXYdr6kTL16\">N48.05590, E10.87208<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After our dinner out in N\u00f6rdlingen we have another quiet eveing in another German stellplatz. &nbsp;In the morning its our usual coffee and fruit chatting about this and that. &nbsp;Pam looks forward to the mornings as there is usually a short video from Kate or Belinda with the grandchildren up to something or other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/N\u00f6rdlingen_22.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>It\u2019s a nice sunny morning in N\u00f6rdlingen. By the time we are up and about several motorhomes have already left.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Lonely Planet indicates N\u00f6rdlingen is one of the few towns in Germany where the parapets of old city walls are still intact and can be walked. &nbsp;So we walk through the Tor to investigate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/N\u00f6rdlingen_23.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"825\" height=\"1100\"\/><figcaption>Once inside the gate we soon find an old stair to the parapets and start walking \ud83d\udeb6.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/N\u00f6rdlingen_24.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"999\"\/><figcaption>Here and there along the parapet plaques have been placed. We cannot decipher the German but the dates vary through the 1600 hundreds.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/N\u00f6rdlingen_25.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>The walk around takes about an hour. The walls are being repaired in a couple of places so we had to go up and down more than once. This tower has a bit of a lean.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/N\u00f6rdlingen_27.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"825\" height=\"1100\"\/><figcaption>You get to look into people\u2019s backyards as well all for free.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Our visit to N\u00f6rdlingen is complete so we service the Hymer and continue south on the Romantische&nbsp;Stra\u00dfe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Donauw\u00f6rth_1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Soon after we drive through Donauw\u00f6rth, which looks very pretty but you cannot stop everywhere.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Friedberg_1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>The next substantial town is Friedberg. It\u2019s has a Lidl so we do a shop and have a wander.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Friedberg_2.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>We have a walk up town, more pastel colours and pretty flowers \ud83d\udc90.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Landsberg_1-1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>The afternoon shadows are lengthening as we find a spot in Landsberg am Lech. &nbsp;The stellplatz is full but we don\u2019t need power so we park in the adjoining car-park.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Landsberg_2.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>The stellplatz adjoins the cemetery. As we walk by the flowers do look nice but in comparison to the Scandinavia countries they are not as well maintained.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Landsberg_5.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>We walk up into the old town, Landsberg am Lech has a beautiful tor (gate). The colour of the ivy at this time of year adds to the charm.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Landsberg_6.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>We find the church is closed and do a quick lap around the square.
