{"id":9019,"date":"2017-09-26T17:34:00","date_gmt":"2017-09-26T17:34:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/?p=9019"},"modified":"2019-05-24T07:23:21","modified_gmt":"2019-05-23T21:23:21","slug":"the-romantische-strase-part-1-germany-%f0%9f%87%a9%f0%9f%87%aa-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/?p=9019","title":{"rendered":"The Romantische Stra\u00dfe (day 1), Germany 2017 \ud83c\udde9\ud83c\uddea"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Travelled: &nbsp;56 kilometres from W\u00fcrzburg&nbsp;to Bad Mergentheim along the Romantische&nbsp;Stra\u00dfe, Germany<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Visited: Solymar Therme \u20ac22.50pp<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div><strong>Stayed: Bad Mergentheim Stellplatz \u20ac10, all the usual services. <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/6Tb2YXQNf1kqWX1HA\">N49.49296, E09.79277<\/a><\/strong><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>We are planning to catch up with our neighbours in Innsbrook, Austria in a few days. &nbsp;Rather than drive directly south, we have decided to take one of the German tourist routes called the Romantische&nbsp;Stra\u00dfe (romantic road) which for the rest of this blog I will abbreviate to RR. &nbsp;The route from W\u00fcrzburg to&nbsp;F\u00fcssen is just over 400 kilometres, however as we have already visited&nbsp;F\u00fcssen (last year) we will bail before that for Austria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyway it&#8217;s late as we leave W\u00fcrzburg and we have a bit of a battle finding the correct road to drive along. &nbsp;By the time we reach&nbsp;N\u00f6rdlingen&nbsp;we have found the correct road and start following the signs. &nbsp;So far it&#8217;s all back roads, but easy driving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/RR_1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Our first real town is Tauberbischofsheim, which as you can see is a hive of activity. &nbsp;But it&#8217;s late and we need to find a stellplatz, so we continue on.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/RR_2.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>We have the co-ordinates for a stellplatz in Bad Mergentheim. &nbsp;It&#8217;s just down the hill below the Solymar Therme.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>After a peaceful evening in the stellplatz without paying (the machine was broken), we enjoy coffee and some fruit before getting our swimming stuff together and walking up to the Therme. &nbsp;We decided on the full experience rather than just a swim, hence the cost. &nbsp;So for the next two hours we swim our 40 laps, then try every pool spa and sauna we can. &nbsp;It was fabulous, perhaps even better than that. &nbsp;Obviously they don&#8217;t allow you to run around with a camera so&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Therme_1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>The plan view from the brochure showing the two lower levels.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Therme_2.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>The top level, being the adult only area. &nbsp;Which in German means everyone is more or less naked. &nbsp;You can practice your high-school German deciphering this&#8230;<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Back in the Hymer with very clean pores, we hit the RR again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Michael and Pam<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"bpp_credits\" style=\"clear: both; float: right; width: 200px; height: 70px; text-align: right;\"><a style=\"text-decoration: none;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.blogpadpro.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"vertical-align: middle; font-size: 8pt; color: #999;\">Edited with BlogPad Pro<\/span><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: middle; padding-left: 5px;\" src=\"http:\/\/files.blogpadpro.com\/images\/speech-bubble.png\" width=\"25\" height=\"25\"><\/figure><\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Travelled: &nbsp;56 kilometres from W\u00fcrzburg&nbsp;to Bad Mergentheim along the Romantische&nbsp;Stra\u00dfe, Germany Visited: Solymar Therme \u20ac22.50pp Stayed: Bad Mergentheim Stellplatz \u20ac10, all the usual services.
