{"id":7787,"date":"2017-08-19T18:23:00","date_gmt":"2017-08-19T18:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/?p=7787"},"modified":"2019-05-22T11:22:22","modified_gmt":"2019-05-22T01:22:22","slug":"tourist-route-13-helgelandskysten-part-1-norway-%f0%9f%87%b3%f0%9f%87%b4-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/?p=7787","title":{"rendered":"Tourist Route 13 Helgelandskysten (part 1), Norway 2017 \ud83c\uddf3\ud83c\uddf4"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>Travelled: 200 kilometres from Grong to Br\u00f8nn\u00f8ysund in Nordland.<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>Visited: Driving TR13, ferry from Holm to Vennesund NOK121, walked the Torghatten<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>Stay: Bronn\u00f8ysund marina stellplatz, free with power (out of season) &nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/nmtxZRsAdApEkrDg9\">N65.47067, E12.20275<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We had a walk around Grong in the early evening, meeting an English couple. &nbsp;He was apparently born in Grong, going to school here. &nbsp;They come back to Norway regularly, but this time for his 60th school re-union. &nbsp;So after 10 minutes of chatting we wish them well and continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Grong_3.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>We park for the night in this little picnic area with 4 German motorhomes. The further we drive north the more Germans homes we see.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Grong_4.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>A little further up the street we find a charging station for electric cars. That not unusual in Norway, charging station are common in supermarkets car-park. But this one has 7 charging units for just Tesler cars.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Grong_7.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>After coffee, we go for an hours walk along the river before continuing north. &nbsp;We are on our 3rd day of reasonably mild weather, just a t-shirt again this morning.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/TR_13_Helgelandskysten_1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>After almost 45 minutes on the 775 without seeing another vehicle, we turn for the Helgelandskysten.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our strategy as we head north is to complete as many of the tourist routes as possible without taking ourselves too far off track. &nbsp;The Helgelandskysten is the longest of these routes being 433 kilometres in length, including 6 ferry passages. &nbsp;The route starts from the ferry crossing at Holm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/TR13_Helgelandskysten_4.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Since leaving Trondheim the scenery has been prodominately vast pine forests, broken only by freshwater lakes. &nbsp;Fishing is the big tourist draw up here. &nbsp;We see signs to this fishing camp or that everywhere.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/TR13_Helgelandskysten_5.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Norway is still the land of tunnels and bridges, this one gets two birds with one stone.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/TR13_Helgelandskysten_6.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Off the bridge straight into the tunnel.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/TR13_Helgelandskysten_7.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>As soon as we cross by ferry from Holm, we join the TR13. The contrast in the landscape is very swift. &nbsp;The pine trees thin out and the rocky outcrops dominate.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/TR13_Helgelandskysten_8.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>We pass diary farms whenever the terrain levels out.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/TR13_Helgelandskysten_8-1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>We drive on to Br\u00f8nn\u00f8ysund, then turn for the Torghatten. Our plan is to do the walk up to through the keyhole.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/TR13_Torghatten_1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"825\" height=\"1100\"\/><figcaption>It&#8217;s only a 30 minute walk, although more a climb than a walk.
