the \u00d8vslab\u00f8dalem (45 tollway NOK85), Ferry to Oanes (NOK112) and Preikestolen (parking NOK200)<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Stayed: Small parking area 4 kilometres from Preikestolen, free no services. <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/QcKybsk8DJ1ki3Ky7\">N58.99969 E06.10301<\/a> (thanks Bluey)<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Our little layby near Sinnes provided a good nights sleep as well as a great view. &nbsp;But the sheep are up early wandering about, their bells ringing close by so a sleep in not looking good, so we should hit the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Sinnes_5.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Bit of sun in the morning, something you don&#8217;t see every morning.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Tronstad_1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Norway is one picture opportunity after another. &nbsp;The small farm buildings are nearly all painted a rusty red and there always seems to be a waterfall in the background.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Tronstad_2.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>As we slowly descend toward Byrkjedal the country changes again. &nbsp;Then we find a diversion is in place as the tunnel at Birdal is closed.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Tronstad_4.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Its a long diversion adding about 20 kilometres to the trip to Lauvvik. &nbsp;The road is narrow and the rain continues.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Oanes_1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>The Lauvvik to Oanes ferry. &nbsp;We have a bit of a dispute with the ticket seller but eventually get the 6 metre price. &nbsp;As I thought he didn&#8217;t want to go out in the rain and measure it.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Our original plan was to find a spot for the night and do the walk to Preikestolen early tomorrow, but the weather has broken. &nbsp;With the sun shinning, we contemplate the option of doing it this afternoon. &nbsp;So we have lunch, then walk over to the info office. &nbsp;There is plenty of parking in the top carpark and only a couple of buses parked here. &nbsp;The fellow tells us there is only about half the normal numbers here because of the heavy rain this morning. &nbsp;If our week in Norway has taught us anything, its use the good weather when you can. &nbsp;So we get ready and start the walk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Pulpit_1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Once we roll off the ferry it stops raining and the weather clears.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Pulpit_2.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>As this picture indicates, the walk up to Preikestolen is hard. &nbsp;The information board suggest allowing 2-2.5 hours for the walk up.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" The walk is only about 4 kilometres, but there are 4 serious uphill sections.
