{"id":7314,"date":"2017-08-05T17:12:13","date_gmt":"2017-08-05T17:12:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/?p=7314"},"modified":"2019-05-22T07:05:36","modified_gmt":"2019-05-21T21:05:36","slug":"more-telemark-canal-norway-%f0%9f%87%b3%f0%9f%87%b4-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/?p=7314","title":{"rendered":"More of the Telemark Canal, Norway 2017 \ud83c\uddf3\ud83c\uddf4"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><b>Travelled: 66 kilometres from Lunde to Vradal, Southern Norway.&nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Visited: Travelling the Telemark Canal.<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Stayed: Vradal Municipal Stellplatz, free with service. <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/kF4zvi1K6ekuPYcY7\">N59.32555 E08.48580<\/a> &nbsp;(OurBumble)<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Our slowest start this season. &nbsp;The stellplatz on the Hogga Sluse is such a relaxing and peaceful place. &nbsp;The sun is shining and the bird chirping. &nbsp;We eventually rise and make coffee, the beds away and we enjoy our coffee overlooking the park and canal. &nbsp;Then we take an hours walk along the canal and back before breakfast. &nbsp;There is free internet here, so I write yesterdays blog and Pam Skype&#8217;s her sister Jenny to check on Dave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We could easily stay another day, our neighbors are friendly and we don&#8217;t have a plane to catch for 3 months. &nbsp;The lock-keeper says there is a ferry passing through at 12.30pm, so we must stay for that at least.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Telemark_22.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Pam enjoys a walk, so this morning we walk up stream on the pathway around Hogga Dam.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Telemark_23.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>The path is part of Norway&#8217;s National Cycle Network, known as the Murane. &nbsp;This section runs for 10 kilometres.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Telemark_24.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"1200\"\/><figcaption>We find part of a hydroelectric facility up path. &nbsp;Looks old but you can hear the hum.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Telemark_26.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>40 minutes later we turn to head back. &nbsp;Looks idylic doesn&#8217;t it.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Telemark_28.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>The lock-keeper was right on time. &nbsp;It&#8217;s 12.30 and a ferry sweeps around and slows to enter the top lock. &nbsp;This tourist boat is a lot bigger than we expected, but it fits in easily.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Hogga Sluse 1\" width=\"1140\" height=\"641\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/l9-AASVsZhc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
