{"id":6775,"date":"2017-07-21T18:25:31","date_gmt":"2017-07-21T18:25:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/?p=6775"},"modified":"2019-05-21T08:02:19","modified_gmt":"2019-05-20T22:02:19","slug":"delft-holland-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/?p=6775","title":{"rendered":"Delft, Holland 2017 \ud83c\uddf3\ud83c\uddf1"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><b>Travelled: 114 kilometres from Schiedam, near Rotterdam to De Rijp in Holland<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Visited: Delft, The New Church and Tower \u20ac8pp, ferry across the canal near De Rijp \u20ac2.50<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Stayed: Fam Stoop, De Rijp. \u20ac10 including electricity and water, <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/8jFX8Dvcget7y5Rs7\">N52.54898 E04.83392<\/a> (Camper Stop)<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>We needed a good nights sleep after the past couple of days and nights. &nbsp;The Schiedam provided a lovely walk along the canal yesterday evening, a Turkish take away and a quiet night. &nbsp;We spent two days visiting Rotterdam last year and our goal is to visit some of the towns we missed in northern Holland last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(Note: Last year we only got as far north as Amsterdam before doing a Rhein River cruise and going east to explore Germany)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Schiedam_11.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Found another Windmill as we walked the canals this morning.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>But a little housekeeping first, we need some bread and a few other essentials (beer) and Pam likes a walk first thing. &nbsp;So we take the long way and walk around the canal to the main shopping area, hit the supermarket then visit the fruit market we find outside the church. &nbsp;The berries are just bursting with flavour, but then again the strawberries and rasberries in Wales were excellent as well. &nbsp;We are lucky in Australia, as we can get fresh berries and fruit all year, but not as good as those found in the markets here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Schiedam_12.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>I turn my back for a moment only to find Pam chatting with a local.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>After a little re-packing we wave goodbye to the Schiedam and head for our next stop, Delft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Delft_1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>We need to service the Hymer, if you get my drift. There is a large campsite on the edge of town, so we stop and I go in and apply some Aussie charm. I am told the facilities are only for guests, but yes you can service your camper, she gives me a map of the old town and where the best free parking can be found.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Delft_2.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Delft is judged as &#8216;the most beautiful town in Holland&#8217; in the Lonely Planet.
