It is important to note that on the evening of the 14th November 1940 most of Munster was completely destroyed by an allied air raid. Following the war the decision was made to re-build many of Munster’s more prominent buildings such as the Dom, the town hall and the rest of the altstadt to their original specifications.

The Clemenskirche, a small and unusual church we accidentally wander past on our cycle ride to the altstadt.

The colonnade of shops along Prinzipalmarkt.
