Travelled: 1400 kms from Peterborough to Sydney  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visited: Wilcannia, Nyngan  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stayed: Wilcannia, Nyngan and Orange  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a very cold night we escape Peterborough continuing east for another 20 kms turning left on the Barrier Highway for the long run to Broken Hill. The Barrier follows the railway line most of the way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Re-fuelling at the cheapest diesel in town and a quick stop at a local bakery we continue on to Wilcannia. After a 500 kilometre drive mostly dodging the thousands of goats that graze the roadside and the crows and hawks having their fill of the numerous road kill it\u2019s a relief to turn into the Victory CP just over the Darling River.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ve stopped here before, but we settle in, to find the place has had a facelift with new facilities. Mind you the price has gone up to $30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next morning a 30 minute walk around Wilcannia before re-fuelling once again at a fuel depot in the backstreets. I have used the petrol spy app to search out the cheapest diesel this trip with great success. The depot fuel today is $0.25 cheaper per litre, a significant saving if you are topping 50-60 litres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another a long 400 kilometre day of goats and road kill, although the goats thin out significantly from Cobar on to Nyngan our next stop. There is a free RV camp behind the Bowling Club, so we settle in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bowlo becomes our new favourite stop, happy hour schooner and a large glass of wine is $9 (our cheapest drinks in four months) and there is a Chinese Restaurant which was very reasonable as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So we sit down for dinner and drinks with two other couple from Sydney (Tuggers) also on there way home. We all got on like a house on fire, what a great night, until suddenly we noticed we were alone in the club getting looks from the staff indicating it was time to go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the morning we manage a walk around Nyngan hence a few pictures. The water tower just behind the Bowlo is amazing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The drive from Nyngan to Orange is just less than 300 kms. The road surface improves but the traffic increases. Another free night, this time at Orange Showgrounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arriving without incident we settle in, the campsite is huge but we only have a single neighbour another motorhome for the night. The sun isn\u2019t down but it\u2019s already cold. We manage a walk in the morning, but it\u2019s real gloves and beanie weather. Walking the back blocks nothing catches our eye for a photo. We depart for Sydney and family visits so our final blog for this trip is done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In wrapping up we\u2019ve travelled 11,500 kilometres in four months, the Jayco hasn\u2019t missed a beat. Had to tighten a few screws as usual but other than the poor eagle and our rear vision mirror, no problems or near misses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
