Travelled: 590 kms from Barkly Homestead to Daly Waters  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visited: Daly Waters  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stayed: Daly Waters Pub, $55, S19.71055, E135.82709  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We depart Barkly reasonably early, there\u2019s nowhere for Pam to walk except the tip, As we filled with fuel on arrival where soon continuing west for the Three Ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The GPS is set for Elliot the first town north of the Three Ways with diesel less that $2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

430 kilometres later we roll into Elliot fill with fuel, get a loaf of frozen bread at the general store. We could have stayed the night in the town campsite but it\u2019s still early afternoon so we kick on for Daly Waters<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two hours and 200 kilometres later we turn off the Stuart Highway for Daly Waters<\/a>. Everyone with a caravan or motorhome in the NT appears to be in Daly Waters as we arrive, The place is buzzing and there are people everywhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pam fights her way into the bar and comes back with an un-powered spot to my surprise. Ian our guide takes us in and promptly says there are no unpowered sites but he has a motorhome spot, but it\u2019s powered another $15. At this stage I just want to park up and have a beer, so we take it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The place is famous for its Beef\u2019n\u2019Barra at $40 a head not cheap but the steak was excellent and the line caught wild barramundi even better. Far more barramundi than we can eat so it\u2019s barramundi leftovers tomorrow. The place is a ruckus, noisy and completely over the top. The music\u2019s load, noisy kids and people generally getting into chatting with complete strangers. The pictures below were all taken the next morning while the drunks were still asleep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The best thing about Daly Waters is Tim\u2019s Junkyard across the road from the pub. I could easily spend half a day in here chatting to Tim if he wasn\u2019t already dead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyway we enjoyed our evening at Daly Waters chatting to a couple of nomads from SA and struggle getting to sleep with the noise, but life\u2019s like a box of chocolates\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
