After four days with my granddaughter India and a catch up evening with Frank and Tina, our friends from adventures in the sub-continent we pack up and make for the road once again. Reflecting on our second stay at Tallebudgera we have done lots of walking and cycling. This year we discovered the Currumbin Aquatic Centre which is about 5 kms from Tallebudgera along the cycle path, so we manage to get in some laps as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The drive north along the Pacific Hwy to Brisbane is hectic and something we don’t look forward to. The four lanes heading north are choked with traffic, add to that the ongoing roadworks along the Gold Coast. Finally over the Gateway Bridge the traffic eases a little. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ninety minutes later we arrive in Maryborough heading straight for the free camp in the middle of town. We share the parking area with several other motorhomes and enjoy a quite evening and an early morning walk around Maryborough before departing for Hervey Bay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Less than an hour later we arrive at the Pier Caravan Park in Urangan and settle in for 7 days. We\u2019ve been here before, Urangan is at the quiet end of Hervey Bay, good for walks and a bit of fishing. Hervey Bay has extensive cycleways and a great swimming pool. As we posted an extensive blog on our previous visit to Hervey Bay, I\u2019ll keep it short.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our week passes quickly but I have a chance to replace two existing reading lights above the bed and some cupboard handles that were problematic, such is life on the road. The cold wet weather down south has caught up with us again. We only get a little rain overnight but the southerly wind is cool most of the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having completed this mornings forced march we depart and make our way back to the Bruce Hwy continuing north turning off at Bundaberg for Moore Park Beach. It\u2019s a 20 km diversion through the cane fields peppered with paddocks of pineapples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why Moore Park Beach, well life\u2019s like a box of chocolate, you never know what you\u2019ll get. As was Moore Park for us. A small council CP in a place we’ve never heard of. We manage a beach front site with a lovely view. Excellent cycle paths, local shops including an IGA and the Bowling Club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I enjoy a swim and some fishing, we ride the cycle paths around town and manage 12 kms every day. The Bowlo is open daily but only for meals Friday to Sunday. Sunday suited us nicely it\u2019s roast night a bargain at $18, a big glass of wine from NZ and a stubby for $9. A fish monger calls twice a week with fresh local seafood. The orange roughy and prawn make for a fabulous dinner. Our 4 night stop far too short, definitely a week next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our time at Moore Park done we do the usual pack up say goodbye to the neighbours and continue our travels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
