Travelled : 230 NM from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visited : Kuala Lumpur  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stayed : Holland America\u2019s Zuiderdam<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another very smooth night\u2019s passage, this time for KL. This is despite the fact that the Zuiderdam was averaging 17 knots all nights. We slow as the Zuiderdam closes on the port and visibility is very limited by the morning mist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have never visited KL or Malaysia<\/a> for that matter so we\u2019ve booked a \u2018KL on your own tour\u2019 which is effectively a coach ride to the city centre and back. Whilst US$69 seem expensive it\u2019s a 90 minute journey each way and the cheapest option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By the time we reach KL and experience the heat and humidity out in the street for 30 minutes we decide the hop-on hop-off bus looks good. We find the nearest stop is just around the corner and we spend the next 2 hours sitting in the air-conditioning taking in the sights. Yes fairly lazy and not normally our style but with the temperature at 30\u00b0 combined with 80% humidity it makes more sense than dashing from one shopping centre to the next.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KL has lots of iconic new towers but bus pictures aren\u2019t worth posting so that\u2019s it. We return to the Pavilion our pick up point, enjoy lunch in a restaurant upstairs. Pam and I walk the shops filling in a little time before getting back on the coach and try and stay awake for the trip back to the Zuiderdam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
