Stayed: Kamarooka CP, $35, S28.03405, E148.58649\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Budget: 56 days @ $XX per day<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We filled wth diesel as we roll out of Roma continuing south on the Carnarvon Kighway. It\u2019s a longer drive today but there proves to be little traffic other than the odd very large truck..<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seventy kms later crossing the Balonne River at Surat we spot 30 or more caravans and motorhomes parked along the river bank, obviously a free stop. We suspect Surat<\/a> must be worth stopping for a coffee and a walk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a 30 minute walk around we return to the Jayco and the Carnarvon Hwy. Two hours later we arrive in St George, we stayed here a few years ago but we still booked for a couple of days as there is some good cycling here and the CP is excellent. We won\u2019t bore you with another blog on St George.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

However arriving and checking-in at a CP can be an experience in itself. On this occasion we are reminded why we love our motorhome. We spend the next 15 minutes watching the tugger pictured below trying to reverse into his pitch. Eventually the manager comes up and asks us to take that spot and the tugger moves on to our original pitch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apart from cycling around town we do enjoy the social evenings sitting around the fire at the Kamarooka CP chatting with the other nomads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
