Travelled: 105 kms from Rolleston to Carnarvon Gorge \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visited: Carnarvon Gorge \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another relatively short drive today, the first 60 kms from Rolleston is relatively quick, but once we turn off the Carnarvon Highway it slows considerably. For the next 40 kms the road narrows, its mostly unfenced pastureland divided by cattle grids which prove to be rough as.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have booked a couple of nights at Sandstone Park, just outside the National Park. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We arrive in good time to find our spot, but rather than settle in we drive on the extra 3 kms to the NP information centre. After having a general wander about we do a couple of short walks before heading back up to Sandstone with a plan for tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pam had the slow cooking out at Rolleston so it\u2019s easy meals for the next couple of nights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I won\u2019t detail the walk more than to say we covered 21.5 kms on the second day, a couple of the side trails were closed due to recent flood damage. The Aboriginal galleries make the walk most impressive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
