We spent a quiet evening in the free aire in Baraqueville. The Hymer had spent the late afternoon in the shade and there\u2019s was a cool breeze as the sun sets. Hopefully the hot weather has gone for the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Baraqueville does not have an old centreville lined with stone building and a gothic church, it\u2019s a modern French village that arose in the 19th century. It does have some lovely walking and cycling paths around the lake that lies below the village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Todays exercise program complete we service the Hymer, setting the GPS for Sauveterre-de-Rouergue a 15 minute drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From our guide book the Most Beautiful Villages of France you\u2019ll find Sauveterre-de-Rouergue on page 256. Surrounded by fortified walls and gates the village is stands on open farmland. Within the walls the village retains its original street plan circa 1281, an open square with a rectilinear streets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finding a convenient parking spot we walk through an old gate to have a look for ourselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The central square pictured above is highlighted by the forty seven arches, which create a colonnade surrounding the square.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eventually up a long narrow laneway we find the Collegiate Church of Saint-Christophe. Our guide book tells us its 14th century gothic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are a couple of Cafes and Bars that would have been great to have a drink if it wasn\u2019t still morning. There\u2019s no tat but a couple of small artist shops. Lots of half timber houses leaning one way or the other. Its been a very pleasant visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back in the Hymer we set the GPS for an aire in Albi, but we need to find a supermarket on our way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
