Well here we are in Jersey<\/a> the largest of The Channel Islands. Other than watching movies set in the Channel Islands or the odd travel documentary about Guernsey and Jersey, we new little about these islands. Always looking for some adventure we decided on a ferry to France, something we have not done for years, via a week in Jersey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jersey is not a part of the United Kingdom it\u2019s a self governing Crown Dependency. Sounds like an each way bet but it seems to work. It has its own parliament, sets its own laws, subject to The Crown. Jersey has a population of 105,000+ and covers an area of 120 square kilometres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday was very quiet as Pam has had a stomach bug for a couple of days so it was a rest and recover day. But feeling a bit better later in the day and being the trooper she is, we decided on some local exploring. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our first stop is only a short scooter ride to Saint Aubin. We walk the promenade and harbour walls as the tide starts to rise. There are a lot of large and beautiful old homes on the surrounding streets. An hour was enough and we retreat to a quiet afternoon in the Hymer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today Pam is nearly back to her normal self, just steering away from fish and chips or bangers and mash for another day or two I suspect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After breakfast we fire up the Kisbee and head off to explore the west coast. Our first stop is La Corbi\u00e8re, a lighthouse on a tidal peninsula. I should explain there are many villages, localities and roads whose name originate from when Jersey was part of France. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The coastal views are spectacular and as picture perfect as we\u2019ve seen anywhere in our travels. Given the WWII German gun emplacements that litter this coast line. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
