{"id":16875,"date":"2018-07-10T10:56:56","date_gmt":"2018-07-10T00:56:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/?p=16875"},"modified":"2019-05-27T07:03:19","modified_gmt":"2019-05-26T21:03:19","slug":"canterbury-again-england-2018-%f0%9f%87%ac%f0%9f%87%a7","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/?p=16875","title":{"rendered":"Canterbury Again, England 2018 \ud83c\uddec\ud83c\udde7"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Date: 10th July 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Travelled: &nbsp;51 kilometres from Sheerness to Canterbury, England<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Visited: Canterbury<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stayed: &nbsp;Canterbury, Old Dover Road P+R, \u00a32.50 per day, with free bus, the usual facilities. &nbsp;N51.26122, E01.10038<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>The wind has eased a little overnight and we slept well. &nbsp;The morning is still grey, but no sign of rain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After coffee and fruit we get the Hymer organised and make for the A2 and Canterbury. &nbsp;That was a mistake ! &nbsp;The A2 is the local road running parallel with the M2 motorway, but the traffic is diabolical. &nbsp;Just getting on to the A2 at Sittingbourne takes more than 30 minutes to negotiate one set of traffic lights. &nbsp;The rest of the A2 was a battle and we were glad to see the P+R sign when we finally make Canterbury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>No point lingering, we find a good spot amongst the other 8 or so motorhomes and walk over to the bus stop. &nbsp;You may remember we visited Canterbury last year, so we have no particular plan but a wander about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Canterbury_101.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\"\/><figcaption>The free P+R bus ride takes about 10 minutes and we walk into the old town.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Canterbury_102.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>There are lots of people about today.
