{"id":1672,"date":"2014-08-18T15:08:14","date_gmt":"2014-08-18T15:08:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/?p=1672"},"modified":"2019-05-14T06:42:15","modified_gmt":"2019-05-13T20:42:15","slug":"saint-pol-de-leon-brittany-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/?p=1672","title":{"rendered":"Saint-Pol-de-Leon, Brittany.  2014 \ud83c\uddeb\ud83c\uddf7"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Travelled : 65 miles<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Visited : Coast of the Granite Roses, Tregastel Plage and Saint-Pol-de-Leon<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stayed :&nbsp;Saint-Pol-de-Leon, <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/6ZXPcesyxNWXqLXe7\">municipal aire<\/a>, with services, \u20ac5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>We are up and off early to do the granite roses walk around the coastline in our campsite in Tragastel. &nbsp;The whole coast along this area of Brittany has huge granite boulders both around the shoreline and rising out of the water. &nbsp;In this area the granite is a pale but distinct pink colour, hence the name. &nbsp;Anyway an hour and a half later we are back having breakfast and decide to move on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I should comment on how good the campsite are here in France. Tourony for example has a bar and coffee shop and you can order BBQ chicken, that&#8217;s cooked on site and your baguette is delivered in the morning. &nbsp;Very clean and tidy with wifi included.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/image87-e1408542031519.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/image87-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Pam finds our lunch spot in Saint-Pol-de-Leon. Brittany.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>We continue our journey west along the Brittany coast. \u00a0It&#8217;s an easy drive and we stop at a couple of lookouts, but continue on through Morlaix before heading north toward Roscoff. It&#8217;s almost 2pm when we stop for lunch in\u00a0Saint-Pol-de-Leon. \u00a0We find a great spot in a little park on the waters edge and lunch camper car style. \u00a0It&#8217;s so nice here, we call enough for the day and move a couple of hundred metres to the Aire and set up for the night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" get the bikes out. &nbsp;We ride the port, the break wall before heading up the hill into the centreville of&nbsp;Saint-Pol-de-Leon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/image94-e1408546901195.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/image94-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"image\" class=\"wp-image-1680\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div Pol, which isn&#8217;t hard to miss as the steeple is just massive. \u00a0Anyway we wander the shops in the old town for an hour, then head back to the aire for dinner and drinks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr
