Travelled:  98 kilometres from Landsberg am Lech to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visited:  Landsberg am Lech and Schongau along the Romantische Stra\u00dfe.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stayed:  Garmisch-Partenkirchen stellplatz \u20ac16, all the usual services. N47.50482, E11.10710<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other than the church bells tolling every 15 minutes all night it was a quiet evening in Landsberg.  Its a little chilly this morning and there is no movement in camper-car world until almost 9am when a street sweeper passes by as a wake up call.  We do all the usual things before getting the Hymer back on the Romantische Stra\u00dfe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today is our 4th and last day on the Romantische Stra\u00dfe.  So it will be good not having to continually have to cut and paste Romantische Stra\u00dfe 7 times every blog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we drive out of Landsberg am Lech we find this beautiful weir and cascade.  We stop to walk over explore when a parking officer appears and tells us we must pay to park here.  So we move on with just this photo.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

An hour and several villages later we arrive in Schongau.  We do a quick Lidl shop and walk up the hill into the old town.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The flowers on the Rathaus look good.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Just off the town square we find Saint Maria\u2019s Church. Doesn\u2019t look too special from here.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

However inside the church its a different story. The decorations are amazing. It\u2019s obviously a point of pride for the locals.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Back on the road heading south we turn for Garmisch-Partenkirchen and say goodbye to the Romantische Stra\u00dfe.  The German Austrian alps await us.<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We arrive at the stellplatz in Garmisch in the late afternoon.  After a little bit of Googling we find a laundromat, drop off two large bags of washing come back and settle in for the evening.  The sun sets early here as the mountains are so high and it feels like a chilly night.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
