for half an hour when I make a coffee and work on the blog for a while. Next thing you know it’s 9.30, so we make an effort to tidy up and get the Hymer serviced and ready ourselves for another day transiting across France.

Our guide gives an excellent recommendation to a small village called Noyers-sur-Serein in northern Burgundy. About 15kms off the main road, it has a friendly sounding aire, so into the GPS it goes.

Again we try for the D roads but eventually we need to transit the relatively large towns of Chalon and Beaune. So we turn for the motorway that bypasses both and save an hour. Turning for Noyers, the pace slows and we chat about the wonderful French countryside. The vineyards, the farmer’s fields and a lovely village every 5 klm or so.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async"
