Region of Trento, Italy.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Visited: &nbsp;The Dolomites.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stayed: &nbsp;Castelfondo, &nbsp;\u20ac15 sosta with services. &nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/t8rK6Q4tnmA9tCnT8\">N46.45888, E11.12988<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Budget: &nbsp;112 days @ \u20ac92 per day.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The weather was a little misty yesterday evening as we returned from our dinner out, but this morning its clear but cold. &nbsp;Most of our neighbours are up and moving early. &nbsp;As we don\u2019t have a plane to catch we have a coffee and breakfast, before getting ready to go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Arabba_3.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>We service the Hymer whilst taking in the view.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Our only aim today is to drive the scenic SS48 west. &nbsp;The Dolomite mountains are not a single range, they are divided into distinct groups of mountains. &nbsp;Today we continue our passage through the central Dolomites and hopefully by tonight we will be close enough to visit the western Dolomites tomorrow. &nbsp;But the going is slow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Dolomites_1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>From Arabba we once again start a steady climb out of the valley.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Dolomites_2-1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Lots of cyclist making the climb this morning.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Dolomites_3.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>We pass isolated hotels on our way.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Dolomites_4.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Nearing the top of Passo Pardoi at around 2,400m.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Dolomites_5.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>There is a small parking spot just over the crest, so we stop for a quick picture and to let several sports cars go past.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1140\" height=\"641\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/MxNwDHIlDrQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Dolomites_8.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>More scenery.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Dolomites_30-1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Dolomites_21.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>We continue down into the valley passing through Canazei.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Dolomites_22.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Canazei is full of toursit coaches and people, so we scoot on through.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Dolomites_25.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>The downhill drive just seems to keep on going.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Dolomites_26.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Nice round-a-bout.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Dolomites_27.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>The road continues down for almost 60klms. &nbsp;Eventually at the valley floor we find a Lidl supermarket at Bronzolo cross under the E45 that links Bolzano with Trento.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Dolomites_28.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>We find the SS42 and start our second climb of the day. &nbsp;This time Passo di Mendola at 1800m. &nbsp;It\u2019s Sunday afternoon and the restuarant in Mendola seem full.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Dolomites_30.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Once over the pass we come down into the Vale di Sole, but we can see the Brenta Dolomites in the distance. &nbsp;It\u2019s been a long days driving, so we set the GPS for a sosta in Castelfondo with good reviews.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Dolomites_29.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>At \u20ac15 it\u2019s a little expensive, but it\u2019s late and the views are amazing. &nbsp;So we settle in.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>We take the opportunity to get the BBQ out and cook a couple of steaks and some sausages. &nbsp;Red meat for the first time in a while, cold beer and wine. &nbsp;We go to sleep with the sound of cow bells chimming methodicaly in the distance&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Michael and Pam<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"bpp_credits\" style=\"clear: both;
