{"id":14025,"date":"2018-09-09T11:11:23","date_gmt":"2018-09-09T11:11:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/?p=14025"},"modified":"2019-05-28T15:21:01","modified_gmt":"2019-05-28T05:21:01","slug":"montefalco-italy-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/?p=14025","title":{"rendered":"Montefalco, Italy 2018 \ud83c\uddee\ud83c\uddf9"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Date: &nbsp;8th September 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Travelled: &nbsp;64 kilometres from Todi to Montefalco, both in Umbria, Italy.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Visited: &nbsp;Spoleto and Montefalco<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stayed: &nbsp;Montefalco municipal sosta, \u20ac5. &nbsp;All services including electricity. &nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/Wy1fVcwQPD2sLSS87\">N42.89207, E12.64761<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Budget: &nbsp;97 days @ \u20ac94 per day.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We wake to a heavy mist in Todi. &nbsp;As we have our usual magnificient cappucino to start the day, we hear car after car coming into the our car-park. &nbsp;There are markets this morning in the piazza just up from the church, so we assume the best bargains are found early.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking of coffee, the last of our 3kg of Amore coffee we brought with us from Australia was finished yesterday, so we are now into the local Lavazza (note for 2019 4kgs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So we walk off into the mist, looking for a bargain. &nbsp;First thing we find, everyone is actually at mass in the church (it\u2019s Saturday), there are only a few people wandering the market so we wander as well. &nbsp;Apart from the usual cheese and cured meats there are stalls displaying whole roasted wild boar. &nbsp;So we order a couple of panini with wild boar meat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Todi_21.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Bit early for a pork roll just yet, so we\u2019ll save them for lunch.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Road_Italy_29.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Back on the road again, its all grapes \ud83c\udf47 and olives in Umbria.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Soon enough we arrive in Spoleto. &nbsp;There is only one free car-park and we luckily get a parking spot big enough for the Hymer. &nbsp;The car-park is your usual Italian chaos. &nbsp;At this stage we don\u2019t care as we have a relatively safe spot. &nbsp;It\u2019s a long walk or a bus ride to the old own from here, but I unload the scooter and we are on our way to the tourist office in piazza della Liberta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Spoleto_2.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>We find a very convenient scooter parking area on the Piazza della Liberta.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Spoleto_3.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Directly behind Pam in the previous photo, the Teatro Romano.
