{"id":12825,"date":"2018-08-10T06:38:06","date_gmt":"2018-08-10T06:38:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/?p=12825"},"modified":"2019-05-28T06:24:09","modified_gmt":"2019-05-27T20:24:09","slug":"comino-malta-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/?p=12825","title":{"rendered":"Comino, Malta 2018 \ud83c\uddf2\ud83c\uddf9"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Date: &nbsp;9th August &nbsp;2018<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Travelled: &nbsp;Only by scooter, the Hymer is on ramps and hooked up to electricity<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Visited: Comino<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stayed: &nbsp;Camping Malta, L-Armier, \u20ac21.50 pd, all the usual services. &nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/56ZFQpNv1kL7wgMT9\">N35.99484, E14,36686<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another quiet evening after a big day in Valletta. &nbsp;We chatted with a Canadian couple, Dan and Tera for an hour or so. &nbsp;They are having a break from there english teaching jobs in Andorra, a small principality between France and Spain. &nbsp;We drove through there a few years ago, so we had something to chat about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are planning on visiting the island of Comino today. &nbsp;As the guide book states Comino is desolate limestone island about 1.5 klms by 2.5 klms. &nbsp;The island is now a nature reserve and no one lives here, although one spot is designated for overnight camping. &nbsp;It also many interesting sea caves and the famous Blue Lagoon. &nbsp;The Lonely Planet warns of how busy it gets. &nbsp;So we decide to go early, its only a couple of klms from L-Armier to Ramla Bay where the tourist boats depart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Comino_1-1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>So we pay the \u20ac10pp (return) for the boat ride to the Comino. &nbsp;We just missed the first boat across but make the second one of the morning at 9.30.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Comino_2.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>It\u2019s a hold your hat boat ride.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1140\" height=\"641\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/A4sAF6JUepM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Comino_3.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>The only real structure on Comino is this stark tower, originally the Chapel of Our Lady\u2019s Return from Egypt. Built in 1618, it is a reminder of the more glorious days of the Templer Knights. &nbsp;We wanted to walk up later in the day, but the track was so rough, we gave it a miss.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Comino_5.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>The boat ride was pretty good really.
