We did find the vista through the Casse D\u00e9serte amazing.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Gorge_1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Finally the D902 turns south-west following the river through a gorge known as the Combe du Queyras.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Queyras_2.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>The D902 crosses the river several times as we descend. The narrow tunnels add a little anxiety to my navigators day. &nbsp;But as I always say you cannot live forever.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Queyras_3.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Mmm&#8230;lift right foot may be prudent.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Driving out of the gorge we try to find a parking spot in Guillestre without success. &nbsp;Our Rough Guide describes it glowingly but not perhaps not on a Saturday morning. &nbsp;The only spot we can find is well out of town so we drive on&#8230;to Embrun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Embrun_1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Further down the valley we find Emdrun also in our guide books. &nbsp;The parking is just as bad here, but we jag a lovely spot at the back of the church, near a small park overlooking the valley. &nbsp;Making some coffee (still using your cups after 6 years Julie) and take in the view.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wpps_container\" style=\"margin: 10px auto; font-family: Helvetica;\">Col de la Cayolle is<\/span>&nbsp;without doubt the most challenging drive I have every undertaken.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Col_de_la_Cayolle_3.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Finally at the top it\u2019s even worse going down. &nbsp;Narrow bridges, single lane tunnel, and blind corners it doesn\u2019t get much more challenging than&nbsp;<span style=\"font-size: 12pt;
