The river road from the escarpment has many wonderful viewing opportunities, the changing colour of the trees against the Niagara River is something special in itself.<\/p>\n<p>Our first adventure is the Spanish Aerocart, a cable car that travels over the Niagara whirlpool. It is just below the main rapids downstream of the falls. It provides a great view of the river and the changing colours of autumn. Next was the behind the falls tunnel. It provides a couple of viewing points behind the falls themselves.<\/p>\n<p>If you aren&#8217;t already wet enough it time for the &#8216;maid of the mist&#8217;. It was great fun, the noise and the wind created by the fall cannot be described by me. Calling it mist is a bit optimistic, heavy rain going in all directions would be more realistic.
