Toilet &nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/sQTuZEJYn9zw891U6\">N57.58661, W06.37669<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We were pleasantly surprised to wake to a dry morning, it was overcast and cold but no wind. &nbsp;Pam was keen for a walk, so after coffee and fruit, we don our jackets and beanies and we set off for an hours walk around Trumpan. &nbsp;On our return we have a hardy camper-car breakfast and prepare the Hymer for take off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Trumpan_17.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>We manage to upset a couple of crofter\u2019s dogs as we walk around Trumpan, but we don\u2019t see a soul. Mind you the views are excellent.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>After such a big day yesterday we have nothing too exciting or far to go today. &nbsp;We start the long drive back down the peninsula from Trumpan turn east on the A850 for Portree. &nbsp;Whilst it considered the capital of Skye it is in fact a small fishing village, but it has a bank, mini-mart and police station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Portree_1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Portree is a pretty little place. It has 10 fish-n-chip shops but only 3 fishing boats. You can draw your own conclusions.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Portree_2.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>The pastel coloured buildings line the quay. The local war memorial has obviously been part of the recent centenary commemorations.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>We bump into Ian and Joe (from Queensland) again, wandering as aimlessly as ourselves and we agree to meet tonight for a drink in Uig.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/A855_1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Leaving Portree with all afternoon to burn we turn for the A855 and take the long way around the peninsula to the port of Uig. Five mile north and we find this amazing feature known as the Old Man of Storr.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Kilt_Rock.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Another 5 miles north we come across Kilt Rock. &nbsp;Unusual from this side, but great views and a waterfall from the other.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Kilt_Rock_2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\"\/><figcaption>In the small car-park it\u2019s chaos, but we manage a spot after a short wait and go for a walk. There are no signs but we spot the ruins of Duntulm Castle, once the seat of the MacDonald. &nbsp;So we head off to explore.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Uig_1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>It\u2019s late afternoon as we roll down the hill to the port in Uig. There isn\u2019t much here really. &nbsp;A scattering of house, a service station that doubles as a min-mart. There is a pub just over the road, so we may have a drink and eat out tonight.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelandpamstravels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Uig_2.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>We park up in the ferry terminal queue for the evening. Our ferry for Harris in the Outer Hebrides departs at 5am so we have an early start tomorrow. &nbsp;Ian and Jo from Brisbane who we met a few days earlier pull in behind us.
