Michael and Pam's Travels Our European Motorhome Adventures and other Travels

The Murray, New South Wales ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ 2020

Date: 15th September 2020

Travelled: 281 kms from Tumbarumba to Corowa on the Murray River

Visited: Holbrook and Corowa

Stayed: Corowa Caravan Park, $32 all services. S36.00690, E146.37959

Budget: NA

After our walking circuit of Tumbarumba, we make ready for the road. It is a shame that all country towns donโ€™t dedicate a small area for motorhome parking to encourage people to stop the night and spend some money.

Mind you our friends Paul and Elizabeth tell us there are at least 50 motorhomes and caravans parked along the river in Bingara last night. Itโ€™s certainly different down in the southern parts of NSW as we have spent the last couple of evenings parked by ourselves.

We stop just short of Holbrook for breakfast before going in to explore the submarine park. Thanks to Covid the museum was closed but we enjoyed the wander anyway.

Back on the Hume Highway we continue on, turning for Albury. Itโ€™s a very different Hume Highway, the border closure has reduced the traffic to virtually zero, in the 60 kms we pass only a couple trucks.

We pass through Albury and turn onto the Riverina Highway heading west for Howlong…then Corowa.

Lots of beautiful trees in blossom in Howlong.

Howlong has a combined Courthouse and Pub.
